about alveus

Alveus started as an internet service provider and web hosting service in 1996. The name is pronounced Al"ve*us and is Latin in origin, meaning "a channel or trough". Our mission has always been to facilitate internet solutions to businesses and customers.

Steve Kidd had a background in computers and sales when he joined the Alveus team in 1996. As the dial-up industry started to die down the former owner wanted to move on to a new technology industry. Steve still saw a bright future for Alveus and became the new owner in 2000. Since then Alveus has focused more on servicing small businesses through consulting, programming, design, internet marketing and the latest in internet technology-- like VoIP.

Alveus' latest in-house project is very exciting! We are building a blog network and will have 100 thriving blogs up and running by the end of 2008. Alveus is currently accepting applications from professional bloggers. Progress updates will be posted in Steve's "Ask Steve" blog.
